The Blues, Brews, and BBQ Concert Series is a series of free concerts that takes place every Sunday throughout the summer at Snowbasin’s Earl’s Lodge.  Each week, Snowbasin will present a different artist, with styles ranging from blues to bluegrass, reggae to rock ‘n’ roll, soul to country.  Blues, Brews, and BBQ Concert Series kicks off on Sunday with a performance by Marinade and special guest Folk Hogan

Marinade is a five-piece blues/funk/soul/reggae band from Salt Lake City.  Marinade’s diverse musical style, according to the band’s website, will “keep you on your toes, literally.  They have a passion to let their music breathe, really jam out, so each song can marinate your aural palate.”  Marinade’s sound certainly lives up to this billing for audiences; since forming, Marinade has received rave reviews and has played shows all across the western United States.  Don’t miss out on all the hype when Marinade takes the stage on the Patio at Earl’s Lodge.

Folk Hogan is a local band as well, also based in Salt Lake City.  According to the band’s website, Folk Hogan describes its style as a “high velocity, folk/punk/gypsy music experience that is high energy, widely appealing, and downright awesome.”  Folk Hogan has one studio under its release, entitled Band of Mighty Souls, which was recognized by City Weekly Magazine as one of the top local albums of 2012.

Folk Hogan will take the stage at the Patio at Earl’s Lodge at 12:00 pm, followed by headliner Marinade at 3:00 pm.

Earl’s Lodge is located at the base of Snowbasin, just beyond the main parking lots.  The Patio is located around the back of the building; you should have no trouble finding it.  Admission to this Blues, Brews, and BBQ is free and open to all ages, so bring your kids.  Delicious BBQ grub and beer will be available for purchase.

While you’re up at Snowbasin for the Blues, Brews, and BBQ show, be sure to experience all that the resort has to offer.  Though it is summer and most of the snow has long been melted, you’ll still find plenty of things to do at Snowbasin.  For example, Snowbasin is home to an excellent disc golf course, as well as a myriad of hiking and mountain-biking trails.

So take your family, eat some delicious BBQ, enjoy live music courtesy of Marinade and Folk Hogan, and spend a day on the mountain!
