Bountiful High School, located in Bountiful, Utah, is the home of the Braves. This school opened in 1956 and graduated its first class in 1957. Notable alumni of Bountiful High School include Jake Gibb, a beach volleyball player who represented the United States at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. Today, Bountiful High School enrolls approximately 1,450 students from tenth through twelfth grade in the Davis School District.
Principal Aaron Hogge and his faculty and staff are committed to the continued personal development and academic success of each and every student at Bountiful High School. Indeed, the school's mission, according to its website, is to provide "the opportunity for each student to become an effective communicator, a responsible citizen, a resourceful thinker, and a lifelong learner." Students and instructors alike work hard to enhance this mission, and their hard work pays off. For example, Bountiful High School was one of only five schools in the state of Utah to make it to Newsweek's list of "America's Best High Schools 2012." According to the list, Bountiful High School boasts a 97% graduation rate.
Bountiful High School encourages students to get involved with the school through extracurricular activities, such as athletics and clubs. Bountiful Braves athletic teams, which compete on the 4A level of the Utah High School Activities Association, include soccer, basketball, football, baseball, softball, and many more. Other clubs and activities offered at Bountiful High School include Drill Team, Dance Company, Debate, Math Club, National Honor Society, French Club, German Club, Chess, Creative Writing/Poetry Club, and more.
