Bountiful Junior High School, located in Bountiful, Utah, is the home of the Eagles. Originally known as South Davis High School, this school opened in 1914 for ninth- and tenth-graders. A year later, the school officially became a junior high. Finally, in 1960, it adopted its current name, Bountiful Junior High School. Since opening, this school has undergone a number of renovations, the majority of which took place between 1995 and 2005. In that time, all the old buildings were demolished to make way for the current facility. Today, Bountiful Junior High School is a beautiful school that enrolls approximately 630 students from seventh to ninth grade.
Bountiful Junior High School "embraces educational excellence and encourages personal success through service and life-long learning," according to the school's website. Principal Kathryn Ashton and her faculty and staff are committed to enhancing this mission at Bountiful Junior High School today. To aid in that cause, the school offers a variety of educational opportunities for students. Among other things, this includes the Bountiful Junior High School Honors Program, which provides students with "opportunities to discover and achieve their academic potential through increased inquiry, rigor, creativity, and critical thinking," according to the school's website.
Bountiful Junior High School also offers students the opportunity to participate in clubs, athletics, and other extracurricular activities. Eagles athletics teams include basketball, track and field, volleyball, wrestling, cheerleading, intramural sports, and more. Clubs, organizations, and other extracurricular activities offered at Bountiful Junior High School include Honor Society, National Academic League, Drama, Science Olympiad, music groups, and much more.
