Harrisville, Utah

Harrisville, Utah, is a city nestled in the northern part of Weber County.  Harrisville is bordered by Pleasant View and North Ogden to the north, Ogden to the east and south, and Farr West to the west.  The area was settled by Mormon pioneers in 1850, and a man named Urban Stewart built the first home there.  Others soon followed followed in 1851, including Martin Henderson Harris, a prominent Mormon leader in Weber County at that time and the man after whom the community was eventually named.  The community's early years were fraught with quarrels with the local Native Americans, but the area eventually stabilized and grew into a bustling town.  Harrisville was officially incorporated in 1962.

Today, more than 5,500 residents call Harrisville home.  Harrisville is a decently sized city, and its convenient location provides a host of opportunities for residents.  For example, the city is situated almost centrally between Ogden Canyon and North Ogden Pass, which both provide access to Ogden Valley and the many recreational hotspots therein.  Wolf Mountain Ski Resort, Powder Mountain Winter Resort, and Snowbasin Ski Resort are all within a 45-minute drive.  Pineview Reservoir and Willard Bay State Park are both nearby as well.  In addition, Harrisville is home to the Ben Lomond Golf Course.  Ogden City--with all its restaurants, shopping, and attractions--is only minutes away.
