Harrisville, Utah, is a city nestled in the northern part of Weber County. Harrisville is bordered by Pleasant View and North Ogden to the north, Ogden to the east and south, and Farr West to the west. The area was settled by Mormon pioneers in 1850, and a man named Urban Stewart built the first home there. Others soon followed followed in 1851, including Martin Henderson Harris, a prominent Mormon leader in Weber County at that time and the man after whom the community was eventually named. The community's early years were fraught with quarrels with the local Native Americans, but the area eventually stabilized and grew into a bustling town. Harrisville was officially incorporated in 1962.
