Ogden Regional Medical Center

Ogden Regional Medical Center is a hospital in Weber County, Utah.  Located in Washington Terrace, a suburb of Ogden, Ogden Regional Medical Center serves residents of Weber County, Davis County, and Morgan County.

The history of Ogden Regional Medical Center begins in 1946, when a group of sisters from the Order of St. Benedict opened St. Benedict’s Hospital at the intersection of 30th Street and Polk Avenue on the east benches of Ogden.  St. Benedict’s Hospital eventually outgrew this location, and a new hospital building at the current site of the Ogden Regional Medical Center was dedicated in 1977.  In that same year, the hospital opened the Val A. Browning Radiation Center, now called the Val A. Browning Cancer Treatment Center, to treat cancer patients from northern Utah as well as Idaho and Wyoming.  St. Benedict’s Hospital continued to grow and advance over the years, and the hospital eventually adopted the name Ogden Regional Medical Center in 1995 as it became associated with MountainStar Healthcare and the Hospital Corporation of America.

Today, Ogden Regional Medical Center offers 176 licensed beds, a staff of more than 300 physicians, and more than 1,000 employees and volunteers.  In addition, Ogden Regional performs more than 77,000 outpatient procedures, 7,500 inpatient procedures, 10,000 surgeries, and 2,500 baby deliveries a year, according to its website.

Ogden Regional Medical Center is home to a state-of-the-art Emergency and Trauma Center, an American Cancer Society Cancer Resource Center, a Ronald McDonald Family Room, a Cesarean Wing, a Cardiovascular Heart Center, and much, much more.  All of the stellar programs, services, and departments at Ogden Regional Medical Center are the reason why this hospital was recognized as a “Top 100 Hospital” by Thomson Reuters in 2012.

Beyond these amenities, Ogden Regional Medical Center also offers a variety of community services, including occupational health and even pet therapy.
