Right now mortgage rates are low, the second week of January showed interest rates of 4.17% compared to 4.4% at the end of 2017 for fixed 30 year rates. There are also fewer than normal homes on the market so there’s less competition! Realtor.com expects modest growth for existing home sales in 2018 with a 3.2% increase in home price appreciation. With the current market, it’s a fantastic time to sell!

After deciding to sell your home, you must decide how to sell it. Some people opt to market their house themselves in order to save money. Selling a home without an agent takes an immense amount of time and planning; the “For Sale by Owner” (FSBO) strategy is an investment of both money and energy. Balancing a job, a family, and selling a home is extremely difficult! If not done properly, FSBO can be a frivolous undertaking.

In 2015, FSBO homes typically sold for $185,000 vs. $240,000 for agent-listed properties. That’s a $55,000 difference! Imagine selling your home and realizing you could have pocketed $55,000 more?
