Weber High School, located in Pleasant View, Utah, near the base of Ben Lomond Peak, is the home of the Warriors. The school was the first high school in Weber County, Utah, and it held its first classes in 1926. It was originally located north of 12th Street near Washington Boulevard in Ogden, Utah and remained there until 1973 when it moved to a new building at the current location in Pleasant View. Today, Weber High School enrolls approximately 1,800 students from Pleasant View, North Ogden, Harrisville, Eden, and Liberty, Utah.
According to Principal Velden Wardle, Weber High School is currently working to become a technology-friendly school. Weber County School District recently installed Wi-Fi throughout the school, and Weber High faculty members are working to integrate an online learning management system into their courses that will allow students to complete classwork, submit homework, and take quizzes and tests all online.
Weber High School offers students ample opportunities to get involved at the school. For those who are interested in athletics, Weber High has many varsity sports teams--including the 2012 5-A State Champion Weber High Warriors softball team--for which students may try out. The school also offers many clubs and organizations for students, such as Army JROTC, FFA (Future Farmers of America), FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), and much more. Many of these clubs and organizations give students the potential to receive scholarships for college.
