Getting To Powder Mountain: Parking & Shuttle Options for a Smooth Trip

Updated

Published

Powder Mountain offers some of the best skiing and snowboarding in Utah, but the journey to the slopes isn’t always straightforward. The steep and winding 15-minute drive from Eden to Powder Mountain can be unpredictable, especially in bad weather. Parking can also be a challenge on busy weekends or holidays, but with several transit options available, you can avoid the hassle and enjoy more time on the mountain.

Let’s break down all the ways to get to Powder Mountain, so you can choose the best parking and transit options for a smooth trip to one of Utah's world-class ski resorts.

Public Transit From Ogden Station to Powder Mountain

If you’re traveling from Eden or Ogden, public transit is an affordable and straightforward option. The UTA Route 674 connects Ogden Station to Powder Mountain, running daily during the ski season. UTA buses are equipped to handle ski and snowboard gear, making them convenient for budget-conscious skiers.

While reliable, the trip can take longer due to multiple stops along the way. If you're a Powder Mountain Season or Midweek Passholder, you receive free access to the UTA Ski Bus. Simply present your Powder Card as your bus pass! Regular Fare is $5 and reduced fare is $2.50.

Powder Mountain Shuttles

Powder Mountain also offers its own shuttle system, which is tailored to meet the needs of skiers and snowboarders in the area. The Bristlecone Route runs from the Eden Shuttle Lot through Powder Basin Office, Powder HQ, Sundown, Timberline, and Hidden Lake.

If you’re staying in Eden or close to these stops, it’s an ideal choice. The Juniper Route serves Wolf Creek Village, Moose Hollow, Ridge Townhomes, and other nearby accommodations, making it perfect for guests staying closer to the mountain.

For those planning to explore Powder Country or Woody’s World, the Lodge Route is your go-to. Operating daily from 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM, this shuttle runs a continuous loop between Timberline, Sundown, Hidden Lake, and Powder Country. Even during bad weather, Powder Mountain’s shuttles keep you connected across the resort.

Parking Options at Powder Mountain

Driving yourself? Parking is free on weekdays and $12 on weekends and holidays. You can avoid the charge if you arrive after 1 PM or carpool with three or more people.

Parking is available at several locations, each with its own perks:

  • Timberline: Closest to lifts and lodge amenities, including the Powder Keg.
  • Sundown: Best for night skiing and family-friendly access.
  • Hidden Lake: Perfect for easy entry to Woody’s World and Hidden Lake Cantina.

For those planning to drive, make sure you’re prepared for mountain roads in snowy conditions. Alternatively, park in Eden and hop on a shuttle to avoid the stress.
