West Point, Utah, is a city in the northwest corner of Davis County.  West Point shares a border with Weber County and Clinton to the north, Clinton and Clearfield to the east, Syracuse to the south, and the Great Salt Lake to the west.  The area of present-day West Point was settled in 1867, nineteen years after the first Mormon pioneers arrived in Utah.  At the time, the settlement was known as South Hooper.  The community later adopted its current name and was officially incorporated in 1935.

Today, approximately 10,800 residents call West Point home.  Among other things, West Point is known for its quiet, rural way of life.  Covering more than seven square miles, West Point contains a considerable amount of farmland.  Life in West Point is peaceful, and the city is far away from the congestion that affects much of the Wasatch Front.  For all this, the city is not far out of the way.  Downtown Ogden is within a 20-minute drive, while Salt Lake City is approximately 40 minutes south.  In addition, West Point is home to Schneiter's Bluff Golf Course, a favorite among local golf enthusiasts.

West Point contains significant residential and suburban living, as well as ample rural living. Homes range from modest single family ramblers to large modern homes and homes on large parcels of land for true country living. In addition, the median home age is well below the national average.
