Snowbird Resort and Nearby Homes for Sale

Snowbird Resort is a 2,500-acre ski and snowboard area located on the outskirts of Alta, Utah, a tiny town in Little Cottonwood Canyon.  Snowbird shares the canyon with Alta Ski Area to the east.  Because the two resorts are so close to each other, they formed a partnership in 2002 to offer patrons joint passes to allow access to both resorts.  However, this offer is only available to skiers, as Alta is a skiers-only resort.

Snowbird offers patrons dozens of fine amenities, including luxurious lodging accommodations, condominiums, spa facilities, fine dining, nightlife, shopping, childcare, equipment rental and repair shops, and much more.  The resort also features exciting summer activities, such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing excursions, and more.  All these things and more make Snowbird a popular ski destination for locals and tourists alike.

At a base elevation of 8,100 feet, Snowbird receives an average annual snowfall of over 500 inches.  The resort offers twelve ski lifts, an aerial tram, and a underground tunnel to escort patrons to new terrain.  Snowbird has 89 total runs of varying difficulty spread across 2,500 acres of skiable terrain.  With the partnership with Alta, skiers have access to 26 lifts and a total skiable area of 4,700 acres.
