West Bountiful, Utah, is a small city in south-central Davis County.  West Bountiful shares a boundary with Bountiful to the east, Centerville to the north, Woods Cross to the south, and the Great Salt Lake to the west.  Mormon pioneers settled this community as an outgrowth of Bountiful, the second-earliest settlement in Utah after Salt Lake City, in 1848.  A man named James Fackrell, Sr., is credited with founding the community.  West Bountiful was incorporated on January 28, 1949 and was officially recognized as a city on November 12, 1962.

Today, approximately 5,700 residents call West Bountiful home.  The city of West Bountiful prides itself for offering a quiet yet cultural lifestyle for its residents.  The city offers a monthly concert series and art display, an annual Independence Day celebration, a Founders Day celebration (the city's heritage celebration), and other special events for major holidays.  West Bountiful also offers extensive dining, shopping, and other retail venues in the commercial district on the city's east side.  West Bountiful is also home to the Lakeside Golf Course. West Bountiful contains mostly residential and suburban living.
