Ogden Valley Ski Resorts 2025–2026 Season Update

Updated

Old Man Winter is taking her time this year. However, Ogden Valley, Utah is ready for another strong ski season. The valley continues to evolve quickly, and its three ski resorts—Snowbasin Resort, Powder Mountain, and Nordic Valley—sit at the center of that momentum. Each mountain is adding new upgrades, infrastructure, and events designed to enhance the skier and snowboarder experience while maintaining the valley’s authentic, uncrowded character. From new high-speed lifts to après ski expansions, the 2025–2026 Ogden Valley ski season promises more access, more energy, and more reasons to plan your next winter getaway.

Powder Mountain: Expanding Value and Experience

Powder Mountain enters the 2025–2026 ski season with a clear focus on value, flexibility, and mountain community. Adult and Teen Season Passes now include eight Buddy Tickets that offer 50% off lift tickets—no blackout dates. Passholders also enjoy early access days, discounts on dining and rentals, free UTA ski bus service, and unlimited skiing from dawn to dusk. Night skiing remains just $24—still the only night skiing option in Ogden Valley.

A brand-new alpine après scene debuts this season at Timberline Lodge, featuring fire pits, music, and a central gathering space near the Special Event Terrain Park—creating a lively new hub for locals and visitors alike. Families and first-time skiers will appreciate expanded beginner programs, including a Youth Day Ticket for ages 5–12 and new evening lessons for convenience and affordability.

Advanced riders can look forward to guided backcountry tours in the DMI zone, where the resort continues to develop future lift-served terrain through bowls, chutes, and tree runs. Powder Mountain’s ongoing enhancements show its commitment to authentic mountain adventure paired with thoughtful growth and guest value.

Snowbasin Resort: Olympic Legacy and Modern Comfort

Snowbasin Resort, one of the most storied ski resorts in the U.S., continues to build on its legacy as a future host of the 2034 Winter Olympic alpine skiing events. For the 2025–2026 season, Snowbasin’s headline project is the brand-new high-speed Becker lift. This detachable quad replaces the old triple, cutting ride time in half and greatly improving uphill capacity. Relocating the base terminal closer to Wildcat also enhances flow and skier distribution across the lower mountain.

Terrain reconfiguration complements the lift project: Bear Hollow and nearby beginner runs have been widened and regraded to create smoother, safer routes and reduce bottlenecks. Snowbasin also introduced RFID lift access across the mountain—streamlining ticket scanning and speeding up lines on peak days.

Snowmaking and early-season infrastructure have received major investment, ensuring more consistent snow coverage and earlier openings. With its combination of high-end amenities, gourmet lodges, and panoramic Ogden Valley views, Snowbasin Resort continues to set the standard for luxury skiing in Utah.

Nordic Valley: Reliable Snow, Family Energy

At Nordic Valley Resort, the complete rebuild and expansion of the snowmaking system now strengthens coverage from early season through spring. Upgraded pipes, pumps, and drainage deliver better snow durability and more consistent conditions, making Nordic Valley one of Utah’s most dependable family ski destinations.

Down at the base, Nordic Valley is evolving into a vibrant après and gathering zone. Expect a tailgate-style setup with rotating food trucks—including favorites like Fried Me to the Moon and Bad Boy Burgers—plus dedicated coffee and beverage service. Yurts, fire pits, and flexible outdoor seating create a lively, social atmosphere while long-term plans for a base village continue to take shape.

The resort’s Rookie Sender Program now runs Monday through Thursday, giving adults more quiet weekday opportunities to learn the sport. These improvements, combined with the mountain’s approachable size and affordability, position Nordic Valley as one of Utah’s best ski resorts for beginners and families alike. The resort’s long term vision includes a base village, expanded terrain, lodging, and four season amenities. This year brings better snow, a more active base scene, and a clear step toward that future.
