Nordic Valley, The Family Mountain With Beginner-friendly Terrain

The Nordic Valley Lifestyle

  • Family-Friendly Atmosphere: With approachable terrain and a welcoming local vibe, Nordic is ideal for families, beginners, and laid-back skiers seeking a casual mountain experience.
  • Affordability & Access: Lift tickets and season passes remain some of the most affordable in Utah, making it an excellent choice for those looking to enjoy the mountains without luxury-level pricing.
  • Casual Après & Community Vibe: Instead of swanky bars, expect food trucks, fire pits, and friendly locals. The experience is more campfire than champagne—and that’s the charm.

Updates At Nordic Valley

  • Apollo Chairlift Overhaul Completed: After being sidelined during 2023–24, the Apollo lift underwent extensive refurbishment—new gearbox, drive shafts, chairs, and terminals—to be fully operational for the 2024–25 season.
  • A Pause On Night Skiing: After the January 2024 fire destroyed the historic lodge, Nordic Valley paused night skiing to focus on essential services and temporary operations. It is estimated to return for the 2026-2027 season, once the new lodge is built.
  • Temporary Base Facilities: A rotating lineup of food trucks and a snack bar ensure guests can grab warm drinks and meals outdoors, while temporary restroom setups are in place to accommodate guests.
  • Major Ski Village Redevelopment Approved: Weber County approved plans for a new 500-acre village — ~230 hotel rooms, condos, and 56,000 sq ft of commercial space. Infrastructure work could begin in 2025, with full build-out over 10–15 years.
  • Plans To Transform Into A Four-Season Destination: In addition to the ski village, new resort amenities would include more lifts, trails, an ice skating rink, and parks.
