Farr West, Utah

Farr West, Utah, is a city in Weber County located northwest of Ogden.  Farr West is bordered by Box Elder County to the north, Marriott-Slaterville to the south, Pleasant View and Harrisville to the east, and Plain City to the west.  The area was first settled by Mormon pioneers in 1858.  In 1890, the area was officially named Farr West after Lorin Farr, the first mayor of Ogden and a prominent Mormon leader at that time, and Chauncey W. West, another prominent Mormon leader in Weber County.  Farr West began as a humble farming community, and it grew and expanded over the years and was eventually incorporated in 1981.

Today, more than 7,100 residents call Farr West home.  Farr West is a relatively small town, but its convenient location provides a myriad of opportunities for residents.  For example, Farr West is within an hour driving distance of many recreational hotspots in Ogden Valley, including Snowbasin Ski Resort, Wolf Mountain Ski Resort, and Powder Mountain Winter Resort.  Farr West is also home to the Remuda Golf Course.  In addition, the Ogden Cycle Association Motocross Track and Willard Bay State Park are literally right up the street.  The Weber County Fairgrounds are only minutes away, and Salt Lake City is within an hour's drive to the south. Downtown Ogden is also just 15 minutes away, with access to dining, entertainment, shopping and local culture.
