Independence Day

Weber County—and northern Utah in general—is the place to be on July 4th, as Ogden, Ogden Valley, and the surrounding areas host numerous Independence Day celebrations.  To help you decide how and where to celebrate our country’s heritage, we’ve comprised this guide of all the Fourth of July festivities in the area.

  • Farr West: Freedom Festival

Farr West’s Freedom Festival begins with a 5K run/walk at 7:00 am and a community breakfast at Mountain View Park from 7:00 to 8:30.  A parade will begin at 10:00.  Mountain View Park will host games, booths, food, vendors, and more throughout the day.  Dinner will be served from 5:00 pm to 8:00.  Fireworks begin at 9:00.  Mountain View Park is located at 1500 N 1700 W.

  • Huntsville

Huntsville’s Independence Day celebration is often touted as one of the best in the state, drawing visitors from all around Northern Utah every year.  This year, the festivities will begin with a community breakfast at Huntsville Park from 7:00 am to 10:00 am.  A parade will begin immediately following the breakfast.  Huntsville Park will host games, booths, food, crafts, and vendors throughout the day.  Huntsville Park will also host other entertainment, such as a speech contest and talent contest, a video film festival, volleyball tournaments, basketball tournaments, and much more.  The festivities will culminate with a dance at 8:30 pm and fireworks in the park at 10:00.  Huntsville Park is located at 200 S 7500 E.

  • Morgan

Morgan’s Independence Day celebration kicks off at Riverside Park with a 5K run at 7:00 am and a community breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00, followed immediately by a parade.  Throughout the remainder of the day, Riverside Park will host food, games, booths, and entertainment.  Festivities conclude with a community dinner at 6:00 pm, a flag-retiring ceremony at 7:00 and a live concert at 8:00.  Riverside Park is located on 125 N just north of Morgan High School.

  • Ogden: Hot Rock’n 4th

Hot Rock’n 4th is Ogden City’s annual Independence Day celebration and the largest Fourth of July event in northern Utah.  Held at Lorin Farr Park, Hot Rock’n 4th kicks off at 1:00 pm and features entertainment, family friendly games, a demolition derby, live music, and fireworks.  Admission tickets are available at www.smithstix.com.  Lorin Farr Park is located at 668 17th Street.
